SPAMMING - what do you think?????

I am proposing that DELROY or the powers that be, find some creative ways of dealing with spammers.  Because of the proliferation of spammers, it has reduced my level of interaction, (and oonu know how mi love chat).  I spend like the first 30 minutes just going through the Boards cleaning up the mess left by the spammers.  It takes longer sometimes, depending on whether Cable and Wireless internet service is functioning fully.

I have noticed on some websites (okay, on ebay.com) that if you are sending a message to a member (who is not selling or buying an item), it is deemed, in my opinion, as an unsolicited message.  In that instance, before sending the message, you have to 'key in' some randomly displayed characters before the message is sent.

I AM PROPOSING THAT DELROY put in place such a system to reduce and \or negate spamming....the characters most be keyed in BY ALL PERSONS WITH LESS THAN 5 POSTS.   (this can be increased or reduced as deemed fit).  It has been found that only a person can read the characters displayed (not a machine) and I personally believe that someone or persons wrote a programme that logs on vibesparty and create an account and then post a spam.

As you all know, the spamming come from persons with only 1 post so that should not be a problem for us SEASONED Posters....and for newbies it would just be part of the teething pains.

Please give me your opinion on this.  If you have any other suggestions, please share…after which I will send DELROY an email message.

Well I'm now on, it's 7:30 am in London so I guess any other real members are asleep. But I'm not alone, there are about three spammers on and it seems me and them posting alternately.......anything will help at this point to eradicate these pests.

You know what?  I've had it with these spammers...

I think it's too easy for anyone to sign up for this board.  There should be a system on board to verify who you are before you post anything.  I feel you need to register with a valid email account and before you are allowed to post either the admin or a moderator should make sure you are a "real" person via email.  Delroy low up di site too much man.  All type a foolishness a post and I'm tired of it!  Yessiday about 25 post a friggery deh pon di site!  Cho!!!!

So apparently if you click on any of the links the spammers sent, it sends a message to the spamming robot which tells it that this is a valid board and then they start spamming it like there is no tommorow.

Please don't click on anything. Please.

Or maybe someone already did and thats why spamming tek up the board so much.

Because your resident spam cleaner is on as then land mi clean.  the spammers comes on in the evening  full up the baord and then we have to clean again and the cycle continues.
